Here's the thing about fall: timing is everything. The colors themselves are fickle and vary year to year and day by day. Rain storms can fell masses of leaves at peak, and they have a short time while they are still vibrant. I lucked out this day, with a carpet of freshly fallen leaves adorning this picturesque (and very damp) stone picnic table. She reminds me of weekends camping, surrounded by people (or maybe just dogs) you love and quiet, leisurely days away from the technology and stressors of modern life.
